Working with birr was a great experience. They guided us through the creative process and showed a real interest in our business. The result exceeded our expectations and it’s great to have them on our team. I’d recommend them without hesitation.

Background

How do you come up with an identity that presents quality, professionalism and refinement to position a new bistro as a unique place to eat whilst staying true to the values of the owners?

That’s the question that the owners of a new start up bistro in Elkford BC posed at our first meeting.

Blend will offer a broad range of fusion food influenced by Southeast Asia, Canadian First Nations and traditional North American Cuisine.

Big Idea

Create a visual treatment and colour pallete that does not pigeonhole the bistro as a provider of a narrow breadth of food and drink whilst providing a modern, adaptable solution that can be rolled out across various materials.

Solution

Initial client meetings considered the vision for the business very closely with particular emphasis on understanding the cultural backgrounds of the married couple at the helm.

Working through the creative process birr developed a style that utilized type to create a welcoming “hug” for the brand by mirroring the “b” and “d” of the word blend.

The logo and mark are flexible and can be used in a number of ways with either option being extremely recognizable
