When a new business approached us with a plan to create a unique restaurant and wine bar in Fernie, we were excited for more than one reason; The opportunity to experience the wine and tasting menus, as well as the opportunity to develop the branding!
Our process is focused on gaining an understanding of the client’s ideas, history, goals and aspirations. This provides us with a clear place to start the creative process that is tuned in to what the client wants. It helps ensure we get off on the right foot, and guides to where the business wants to be in the future.
The aspiration to bring a unique Okanagan-style experience to the Rockies, featuring the wine varietals of this region, with light Italian fare gave us the perfect place to start. We were able to refer to the lifestyles of wine regions in Italy and more locally in the Okanagan to feed directly into the creative approach.
We considered carefully the plans to create a welcoming, safe space that gave people a unique location to meet for a date night as well as a comfortable place for women to meet as an alternative to the typical bar-style atmosphere.
The creative approach drew together a tone of voice that married warmth, knowledge, informality and vibrancy and presented the brand using a flexible colour palette and a wordmark using a classic type style supported by graphic devices.
The branding outputs provided a range of logo options. These allowed for application usage across a range of mediums with versions created for print, web and social platforms. Style guidelines to ensure uniformity of useage across these mediums were also included.
The creation of a simple one-page website with integrated menu functionality allows Bramasole to manage and update an online menu quickly and easily with the ability to deploy various product categories across different sub-menus on the site. Branding is consistent throughout.
